Mask Making

Shirl and Leslie held their annual mask-making party and we all scored
an invitation. Kirsten and I showed up around 1:00 thinking that would
give us plenty of time to finish our masks and catch up with everyone.
We clearly forgot that we are obsessive perfectionists because 6 hours
later we were still putting the finishing touches on our masks.
We set about making masks - mostly of animals. Kirsten created an adorable
raccoon, Sandra made an impala, Amy conjured up a koala bear and I made
good progress towards making a peacock (feathers still to come). Sarah
was top of the class with an amazing traditional mask - a real work of
art.
It was a gorgeous day and it's always a pleasure to be in the company
of Shirl and Leslie and their "bubble of goodness". It's great
to be part of this yearly tradition. I'm sure we'll be thinking all year
about what mask we're going to create next year.
