The Stern Grove Festival happens every summer in the city (since 1938!). It's a series of free
concerts that take place in Stern Grove Park. This was on my must-do list
before leaving the city so we got the group together for an adventure.
We caught the last show of the season and were fired up that Ozomatli was playing. This is a high-energy, Afro-Latin style band with some sweet
dance moves and major crowd involvement.
Sarah and Amy whipped up some food and headed to the park early in the
morning to claim seats. Because Ozomatli is such a popular band, seats
were hard to come by. It was an interesting trick to stay perched on a
45 degree angled hill - but we had fun with it. Shirl and Leslie made
their way through the crowd and I joined shortly thereafter. A game of
Scrabble ensued and before we knew it, the band was on. Despite the frigid
temperatures and seating arrangements, we had a great time hanging out
in the park and dancing to the music.
